Pros
The company is wonderful. Supportive upper level management who listen to ideas and try to make things more efficient. Great benefits!
Cons
If you get the wrong branch, you are screwed. Some branches are allowed to run like a dictatorship, where you don’t operate like the overall company at all. It’s like a “good ol boys” club where promotions depend on popularity and favoritism. You get no support from branch level management, where often times they have no idea what the other is doing and they aren’t on the same page. Baird brags about their “no asshole” policy, but that is not equally enforced across the firm. Again, depends on the branch. These kinds of branches give the company a bad reputation, which stinks because Baird itself is a great company! Also, the pay could be more competitive. Currently have an offer from another firm for a position that would be a step backwards but would pay 15k more per year!
