Pros

Director is chartered and with experience on large projects

Cons

Toxic environment, lots of shouting and swearing, long working hours and you get told off if you leave on time. Not a nice environment to work with.

Pros

1.Excellent technical support and mentorship under David and Shane, both are highly knowledgeable and generous with their guidance. 2.You'll be taught the next level of presenting as an engineer, genuinely haven't seen this level of training anywhere else. 3.Great exposure to a variety of projects. If you want a role that challenges you and helps you grow, this is a strong place to be. 4.Laptop provided and everything cloud-based, so there's flexibility to work from home a few days a week with approval. 5.Multiple teams working across different projects, but all members are supportive and helpful, special mention to Sagar, one of the dedicated engineers in the office. 6.Structured workflow system with time tracked in half-hour increments and submitted daily which brings discipline and clarity to how work gets done.

Cons

The office can get a bit noisy at times, as it's a shared workspace. Using headphones helped soften the situation for me, so it wasn't a major issue overall.

Pros

- Good colleagues and senior who are willing to share their experience - Able to get exposed to many different building projects mainly in the UK - Opportunities for site visit in London - The director will be a perfect mentor if you are willing to sit for IStructE exam - I learned all the fundamental and important structural analysis and design skills (and sketching!) while working for BardenChapman. I did steel building design, CAT 3 crane base check, timber structure design (which is now a famous bar in Central London), and many other miscellaneous works. - There is a table tennis table in the office, which is very fun if you want to take a break with your colleagues. - In general, working in BardenChapman has made a very good start for my career as a structural engineer.

Cons

I won't say it is necessarily a downside. But life will be easier if you have skills for multi-tasking and good time management, just like any other jobs.
