Pros

Nice office People can be fairly nice - toxic culture of public shaming to 'get results' has improved. Good pension. On site canteen if it takes your fancy.

Cons

Where to begin.. Management live to serve Mass Mutual. Choking off the company and any growth ambitions to deliver a juicy divi each year. HR have impressively destroyed the culture of the company. Once inclusive and informative acts/policies, now pushes further segregation. I beg you PLEASE STOP ENFORCING american ways on other regional offices, like refusing to acknowledge 'christmas' but making messy attempts to champion selective holidays/events and ignoring local customs. The company culture is incredibly tone deaf. Increasingly a big brother approach to managing attendance, performance and even volunteering work. We are treated like children, and can't be trusted to act as rational grown ups. Soo may layers of red tape for simple things when we just want to get on with delivering results. Fragmented policies and double standards. In office attendance policies lack consistency across divisions and geography. Perks generally are being stripped back by the month. No opportunity to create relations across departments, monthly socials axed. New product pipelines are disappointing and completely overlook the obvious opportunities. Work/life balance (if any) can't even act as an equaliser to justify poor remuneration. Morale is atrocious across all departments, not just amongst those who have had a rough year..

Pros

Benefit (non monetary) package, and community service culture is great. My direct manager is great, and hers above me would be great if he actually knew what his dept staff did.

Cons

Constant push for change but when change is suggested or implemented, it takes years to complete if it isn’t the type of change C-suite or legacy employees (20+ years there) like. Pushed to implement AI, but requests for a security review take 9-12 months with no updates, by then the request use case has been resolved or worked around. Starting pay is fantastic, but leave after a year because it will never get better, especially on the operational side of the business.
