Pros

Good brand. Fun Products. Great resume addition.

Cons

Sinful benefits, esp health coverage, even understanding that health coverage in the US is generally not good and overpriced. Makes the private owner look uncaring, by association. No bonus structure. No profit sharing. General feeling that talent is not meaningful. If someone leaves or burns out, there are more to take their place because of the brand name. Lots of talented people start with enthusiasm and leave in frustration. The future of talent there is already mortgaged. Eventually, in a different business climate, these warts will show, which would be a shame, since I like the company and would return if the situation was right.

Pros

Bass Pro Shops has a strong team culture, and the people are one of the best parts of working here. I've had the opportunity to work with talented and supportive coworkers who are willing to collaborate and help each other succeed. The company also offers exposure to large-scale marketing initiatives and provides opportunities to work on a variety of projects across multiple channels and business areas.

Cons

The compensation and benefits package could be more competitive, especially when compared to similar marketing roles in the industry. Project timelines are often extremely aggressive, leaving little room for unexpected challenges and creating a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. While the work can be rewarding, the combination of tight deadlines and limited resources can make it difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance at times.
