Bay & Associates Response
7yWe agree – Bay & Associates, Inc. is a great place to learn! When we hire an EIT, our hope is they will become a PE and spend their career here. In 2018, we instituted a training program that rotates EITs with different PEs to ensure they not only work on different types of projects, but also with different PEs with different knowledge, experience and backgrounds. One of our myriad benefits is paid professional development time and paid education for PE exams.
We’re proud of our staff tenure average: If you stay more than four years, you’re likely in it for a long haul. Fully one-third of our current employees were recommended to us by someone they know.
We do try to limit overtime to an as-needed basis. In fact, OT averages only about 3 percent a year on salaries as a whole.
Bay & Associates leadership acknowledges that management is a journey, not a destination. That’s why we created a senior staff team in 2016 and a project leader team the following year. These groups meet monthly to set the vision and direction that will lead us into our next 20 years. Last year, we engaged a third-party human resources management consultant who led these groups in exercises relating to their day-to-day responsibilities leading teams of engineers, designers and drafters. And our plans for training continue for 2019 and beyond.
Bay & Associates is indeed full of good people – people who work hard and are constantly striving to be better than yesterday.
