Pros

Store has less foot traffic so it's better organized. You have autonomy to make decisions on floor setup. You're not stuck at the register where there's non stop ringing. You learn all aspects of how to manage a store. There's opportunity for overtime.

Cons

Beall's doesn't have individual teams to handle job duties. Managers do way too much! They have to not only supervise employees but be a superhero in other aspects to run the store; such as, on truck days, they help with sorting, opening boxes, pricing merchandise and placement on floor. They have to constantly move fixtures and make room for incoming merchandise. They have to do housekeeping: sweep the floor, clean the bathrooms including scrubbing nasty toilets! Take out trash. Mop the floors. They have to break boxes down and take out to dumpster. There are no individual teams to do these jobs which is putting undo stress on the manager.
