Layoffs now are shameful - Anonymous employee Beamery Employee Review

To perform a RIF on Nov 14 is simply rude and takes away from all the efforts, communications and programs trying to show the Leadership Team (LT) cares for their employees. The layoff in January was thoroughly thought through and intentional NOT to perform such an event until after the holidays. This round was a gut punch, completely destroying ~100 people's holidays. And the severance, especially the lack of benefits was not aligned with caring for people. I understand difficult business decisions need to be made, but the LT knows the hiring market is extremely poor right now, so to do this before Thanksgiving, knowing the chance of landing a new job before the end of the year when our benefits run out was extremely thoughtless, insensitive and almost inhumane.
