Pros

Somehow, the boss hires awesome people. Not sure how she does it, but I worked with a great team of hard working account managers and designers. That's it.

Cons

This is the most dysfunctional work environment I've ever experienced. It was pretty common for me to leave work, get in my car, and scream at the top of my lungs to relieve some of the frustration/insanity I'd experienced that day. Everything is a lie. LIE: If you're a potential client, you'll be told that we have dozens of employees and are a global agency. TRUTH: There are probably only five or six employees working at any given time (because turnover is so quick). If you're a client and you ask to come into the office, you'll be turned away a number of times before you actually come in. Once you DO come in, the boss will either bring in random people to come sit at the desks, or tell you that a lot of people are out sick or on a work trip. In all actuality, everyone is there and she's trying her best to cover up her lies. As an employee, you're sucked in as part of the lie and it feels awful. LIE: If you're interviewing, you're told that it's a flexible environment that encourages internal growth. TRUTH: You are treated like a child by the boss. Taking a sick day can get you silent treatment for a week. She's very unapproachable and doesn't understand that people have lives outside of her company. And being promoted internally? Maybe in the amount of work and responsibility you take on, but NOT in pay. She'll say in the interview she gives out raises based on stellar performance- I never saw a raise given to anyone, including people who had been there for years. LIE: The company is stable, and actually doing well! TRUTH: There were many, MANY times I thought I'd lose my job because I thought the company would go under. Somehow, she's managed to keep it afloat- that's probably because she never EVER pays any of her vendors (including printers, couriers, and often other small businesses that have done work for her). If you decide to work here, get ready to field DOZENS and DOZENS of calls from collectors and collection agencies. LIE: If you're hired, you get to work in this awesome office, and you can even work remotely sometimes if you want! TRUTH: You will NEVER work remotely, it is completely frowned upon once you actually get the job. The office itself is in a nice location, but I hope you're ready to CLEAN! She didn't have the money for a cleaning crew, so now employees do the cleaning! With no tools (no vacuums, no cleaning supplies), so basically the place is disgusting. She also promised that if we did the cleaning ourselves, she'd stock the fridge with beers and snacks.... HAH. Obviously, that never happened. LIE: You'll get paid well. TRUTH: Your salary is UNBELIEVABLY low for the amount of work you take on. Compared to any other agency with the same number of clients, I should've been making double what I made at Bee-line. I just didn't know. Everyone there is EXTREMELY underpaid. If you go in for an interview with a number in mind (which you deserve for your past experience), you will most likely be told your work or your experience doesn't merit that amount, and she'll try to talk you down. One more, just for fun. LIE: Pretty much everything that comes out of the bosses mouth. She's a GREAT talker, I'll give her that. Excellent salesman. TRUTH: Whether you're looking to make Bee-line your agency OR you're a new hire, please take everything she says with a grain of salt. Most likely, it's a lie.

Pros

Working at Beeline has been a career-defining experience. The team is wildly talented, collaborative, and genuinely supportive — a rare combination in the agency world. Leadership trusts you to own your work but is always available to provide guidance when needed. Creativity is not only encouraged, it's expected — and that makes every day exciting. From big-brand campaigns to innovative digital strategies, the projects are fast-paced and fulfilling. What really sets this place apart, though, is the culture. No egos. No burnout-for-the-sake-of-it mentality. Just smart, kind people doing award-worthy work and having a good time doing it.

Cons

There were no cons about this job, just a lifestyle change needed and wanted to try something else.

Pros

Bee-line is a hidden gem in the northern suburbs. It consists of talented account managers, graphic designers and web developers. To add to its likability, it has a great work life balance, friendly team and is located in trendy downtown Libertyville. The client portfolio is extremely diverse, and as an account manager, you are able to interact with clients from day one.

Cons

Bee-line's clients often have tight deadlines, and employees must be able to work quickly to meet them. Employee parking in downtown Libertyville can also be a hassle.
