Pros
Despite all the chaos in the world, Beeline is an oasis. Do we have crazy days and client emergencies and meetings we'd rather not have? Of course-that's just the corporate world. But if I have to experience those downsides of corporate life, I'm glad I'm doing it with these people. Beeline is a family. We squabble, we compromise, we prank each other, but in the end, we've got each other's backs. I trust my teammates implicitly. If I need them (for work or even an outside of work issue), I know I can count on them. I feel like leadership is doing a good job trying to be transparent with what is happening and where they think we're going. The truth is, the world is unpredictable right now in general, and I have no complaints about the information we're being given. I am grateful they've allowed continued working from home during the pandemic and there has been zero effort to push anyone out of their comfort zones. I have also seen real effort this year, even before COVID-19, to let go of egos, attack processes that weren't working and reengineer them, and to support and be open to feedback.
Cons
The pandemic impacted our bottom line, and ultimately bonuses and salaries. But I'd prefer to accept a small pay cut than a furlough or layoff. I appreciate Doug and team fighting to keep everyone employed by any means necessary. We sure do seem to have more than enough work to do. On that note, work/life balance isn't really a thing. Work blurred into life is more like it, esp being at home. I feel like I'm taking calls and meetings earlier AND later than ever before, although i do feel empowered to decline if I really have to.
