Pros
Great Benefits and lower level Managers. The place truly adopts a family atmosphere. Lunches/Dinners provided as well as uniforms.
Cons
There are more J1s (employees with a J1 Visa here for a year), and TNs ("professionals" that are here for 4 years to further their careers in the country they came from), than actual hirees from the area. There is no advancement because of this. For the next 4 years, you will not "move up" or receive raises. This Company does not believe in promoting within and prefers to hire a group of non-English speaking employees to fill the needs in all departments. Having said that, the TN's start out making more money than employees who have been with the company for years. It is frustrating not being able to communicate with the interns and can be unsafe at times. This group of hires get "special perks" and are valued more to keep Beemok's reputation as an "all inclusive place to work". Also, the management/non-management ratio is 40/60. Very top-heavy on the management side. This creates the "too many queens and not enough worker bees" syndrome. It has caused communication chaos in Housekeeping, Front Desk, Kitchen, Stewarding, Banquets, the Restaurants, etc. You are not allowed to eat or shop at any of the stores/restaurants without a permission slip signed by every department head. This applies to being off the clock and out of uniform. Constant turnovers in management.
