Pros

Clinical experience. There really aren’t any other pros.

Cons

Their “guaranteed hours” don’t exist. If a client is sick or their family member is sick you lose hours. If the family cancels you lose hours. If the family goes on vacation you lose hours. The only way to make sure you get paid is to rearrange your schedule to make up the hours missed due to the family’s cancellations. In fact, they expect you to make them up. There is no fall back plan. There were times that I was out of work for weeks on end and their solution is to always restaff you to a new case which usually prolongs your time out of work. They are super inconsistent. There are no benefits unless you have been with the company for several months and meet their criteria of hours worked to receive them. They have horrible training. The training is 40 hours of clicking through online videos that they expect you to have finished in two weeks which is nearly impossible. At that rate, you’re lucky to retain any of the information. The only reason I didn’t fail the board exam is because I have a background in psychology. After you pass, they just toss you on a case with minimal supervision and just expect you to figure it out. Again, the only reason I succeeded was because of my background. Oh, and did I mention that you don’t get paid for your training? The only way you make money during training is with their “incentives” which can only be earned if you finish training in the time period they give you to complete it. The pay is mediocre. There are way better offers out there than what this company gives you. They will hire anyone who has a pulse and a clean background check. They don’t care if you’re competent in the field at all. I understand that there are people who use this job as a stepping stone, but there are plenty of people who only care about the money. The biggest issue is that they hire people without experience and then they don’t give them proper training. The company also only cares about getting a paycheck. They don’t care about the kids. I had voiced concerns about a child’s well-being and it went ignored because they “didn’t want to get involved”. WE ARE MANDATED REPORTERS. Even if those concerns are suspected and not witnessed, you are supposed to investigate. Overall this company was a huge waste of time. All I got out of it was a credential and some experience to add to my resume. From what I’ve seen in parent reviews, the company is going downhill fast. They have a huge turn over rate for RBT’s and it’s mainly due to the lack of training and communication. This job is not a sustainable income and you’re lucky if you make a full paycheck every pay period unless you work with multiple clients

Pros

Behavioral Framework offers so much support to their BCBAs. There are so many people you can turn to with questions, for collaboration, and for growth. You get to travel each month to the DMV area, meet amazing people, and work with the most amazing families.

Cons

Traveling each month can be a lot but after a few months of grasping everything, you’ll start to look forward to your trips like I did.
