Pros

- Kind individuals on my level who are passionate and interested to improve - Flexible work arrangements - Some people really look out for you and want you to succeed as well - You can make meaningful connections with the people you get to work with

Cons

No proper on-boarding and so my self and others found it difficult to get into things. I was told I would be supported when I joined, but what I found was a painful first few months figuring how things worked as no one was really there to help me out. When I reached out to one of the directors I was simply told that someone senior would help me soon enough. That took 4 weeks to happen and after multiple follow ups. They simply did not have time to help someone who just joined, nor make them feel like part of the team. People tend to be in 'busy' mode and so response times are very slow specially when your rank/role is low I found that the more senior ones didn't respond to my questions or I would be directed to someone else. Favoritism. You had to be part of the 'in' crowd to actually get the right support and even get work done. Despite my sincere efforts to build meaningful connections with one of the directors I was simply ignored and most of my messages (work or just a normal gm/how are you) did not get a reply. Unrealistic work times. The norm here is total flexibility which also means that people work over the weekend. I was told to 'put more effort' into finishing a task that was given to me on a Friday and was needed on Monday. When I tried to push back and not over work myself I was met with disapproving comments. My usual work week was already averaging 40+ hours as I started work at 7am and tried to finish before 6pm. It was very easy for ppl to say " I'll just do it over the weekend". psychological safety is only surface level. Some senior leaders like to dismiss ideas or prevent discussion by announcing that 'everyone here is an adult' and to hint that any form of push back, dissent, or difference of opinion was childish or unprofessional. One director out right lied to me. This I think was the nail that sealed the coffin. The lack of integrity of this director, to say words and not follow through was what really prompted me to leave. The way this person treated me was unfriendly and after some reflection I may have been a victim of micro aggressions from this person as I always felt uneasy and judged around them.

Pros

lots of work to do and gets you trained on consulting. Clients are friendly and genuinely thankful for the help and support given to them.

Cons

Lots of times work can get passed on to you. Lack of process means goals are somewhat vague. silo working is a norm and sometimes have to work weekends to meet client deadlines.
