Pros

There are no pros. You will not be appreciated and new staff will be hired into higher positions over you no matter how hard you work or how successfully you complete your projects.

Cons

Senior management are completely uninspired. They exhibit no leadership skills and ignore the fact they have destroyed all trust with the employees, seeming oblivious to the lack of morale on the site. MD - you are resting on your laurels, thinking that reaching your lofty position after 20 years means you can kick back and reap the rewards without putting any more effort in. You should be LEADING your team, not holding them down. If you have to break the news that staff won’t be getting a pay rise and need to make sacrifices, don’t turn up the next week in a brand new top of the range BMW company car - a real David Brent move…

Dear Colleague, Thank you for taking time to post your review as we appreciate feedback whether it be positive or negative. We have worked very hard over the last few years to improve the culture in the company and empowered all staff to make a difference, this has been reflected in our many culture surveys. With regards to Leadership, it is an individual’s right to an opinion but we at Bergstrom are proud to have had sustained business growth since Covid and that is testament to the continued hard work of whole team here in the UK. I would also like to take this opportunity to correct some errors in your review: With regards to informing staff there has been no pay rise is incorrect. Apart from the interruption of Covid in 2020 all staff have benefited from an annual increase since 2016. With regards to any employee’s company vehicle, in this case an Audi and not top of the range, if they choose to financially contribute to this benefit it is a matter between them and the company and as for any personal relationships within the team, unless it effects the business, it is a matter for those individuals. We are sorry that you feel unappreciated, and we would encourage you to speak with your manager or make use of the company grievance procedure if it was deemed necessary form a work perspective. For any personal issues you are encouraged to speak with HR or seek assistance from the company mental health first aiders. It is unfortunate that you have had to resort to using an anonymous review portal as we encourage open dialogue and if the discussion is constructive, we appreciate the feedback. As always, our doors are open to discuss matters but ultimately Bergstrom is not for everyone but those who embrace the culture and ethics of the company have, we believe, a very rewarding work life.
