Pros
First few years were great personally and I would have rated 5 stars, then the business turned really bad around the time it went public. Good opportunities for promotion Modern tech stack Great colleagues Used to have a fun and social cuture. Since the business went public it has declined massively. All about the balance sheet, bonuses have shrunk, many great people left or forced to leave due to this and compunded by an incompetent and sociopathic executive joining the group in the 2nd half of 2023. Overall was great for my career but I am so glad to have left when I did.
Cons
Mass redundancies That executive Bonuses much smaller than they used to be Culture now all about cost cutting Zero training offered Check card scans to see how often you are in the office, has to be a minimum of 3 days a week but they "strongly encourage" four days a week. Senior management are a clique. Majority of them are South Africans, so if you aren't you have very little chance of ever being 'one of the boys'. No idea what most of them do. A few are on ridiculously high salaries for doing practically nothing, but it's because of who they know. All the stuff like table football and beans bags and discounted coffee they do for employees are just gimmicks. Senior management have no interest in their employees beyond how much money they are making for them.
