Pros
In my personal experiences over the past 13 years at BEUMER Corporation, decisions made are more often than not built on the cornerstones of "Logical" and "Fair", which is something I believe is very important. There are not many layers of management between the CEO and the entry level employees, so it is possible to make a big difference in the company soon after hire. Employees are given significant positions of trust and responsibility soon after on-boarding, with a supportive approach to helping team members through challenges. The sense of community and camaraderie among colleagues helps keep the days fresh and enjoyable. The current work environment is flexible and adaptable, to help support a prioritization of health and family, and allows for the capacity and support to handle life emergencies that may arise.
Cons
Over 13 years, I cannot say I have agreed with every decision made, but I more often than not find the decisions to be sensible, logical, and fair; with a lot of time and thought put into careful approaches to the challenges we face. Can't pay the big bucks like other tech giants, but I find the work environment, people, and other benefits help to more than make up for that. I find the pay competitive and fair when compared to other similarly-sized companies.
