Met some great coworkers from here that I am very grateful for

Poor management, they are terrible to their employees which is why they have a high turnover rate. Fired me after I reported unethical behavior that ruins the therapeutic environment would not trust sending my kid here.

Pros

Love working with adolescents. Loved that every staff member was compassionate about the mental health and well being of the clients and worked well cohesively to impact and make a difference in the clients lives.

Cons

Last day of employment 8/1/25. Very disorganized operation even after working for the company almost 9 months. This disorganized poses a safety risk to the clients and staff. There has been some improvement with policy and procedures on the compliance end because of a recent Joint Commission audit but there is still multiple gaps of concern that have been voiced to management and corporate personnel regarding the emergent situations process that has been put into place being faulty and/or not having anything put into place at all. The company is so financially focused that it impacts the safety of the clients. Not wanting to hire an appropriate amount of staff per client ratio that have led to multiple encounters of client injuries and mental health emergencies. Rushed client intake and acceptance into the program without having all legal and necessary documents uploaded. Disconnect between client intake and appropriate level of care or approval by insurance has led to clients being pulled out by parents after just starting the program, clients dropping the program, or clients getting admitted into inpatient. Terminating a therapist at the start of a shift that had worked for the company awhile without warning solely based on a newly discussed corporate budget. The clients loved her and were adversely impacted. They are so budget driven that when a client forgets their packed lunch they would only provide a snack or nothing at all because it is a “natural consequence” or if a client does not like the food that is provided and ordered, they cannot have a snack and will just have to go without eating. Cannot share or save food for later. Company just started allowing the summer program kids to save their lunch and director just purchased lunch able prior to my resignation but it took that long of discussing this being an issue, esp with clients that are on medication that decrease appetite and may not be hungry at lunch but hungry after during snack (they were requiring them to throw away their full untouched ordered meal and not save it). Requested that they have some new undergarments to provide clients that may unknowingly start their menses and bleed through but denied do to budget and very disorganized at intake to ensure parents are aware to keep a spare set of clothes for all clients that have their menses. They don’t want to send any clients home (do to billing and financial backing) and will expect the clients parent to come during the program and bring a new set of close but not take them out early (some parents driving 45min or greater to get to our location). Treatment is based by the book/skilled focused that being treated like a basic human and thinking out of the box is missing. Director will ask you to do things out of your scope/practice or illegal. Director will utilize you for coverage in other areas where inappropriate (covering LeeanWell because they need to hire a BHS person and LearnWell requires a BHS person in with the instructor, not a nurse). Lack staff emergent situation handling training and multiple situations occurred where staff panicked rather than utilizing common sense to resolve. They expect staff to use their own personal devices (cell phone) to have TEAMS access throughout the facility when covering as their way to communicate and alert in an emergent situation. No benefit other than prorated vacation/holiday pay. Expects you to drive out to both Westlake & Beachwood to train/cover if needed and does not mention this at time of hiring. Frequent staff turnover. Position is a figure-it-out as you go but will reprimand you on something you may do unbeknownst because you never had training or oriented to the proper method or one that may not exist.
