Pros
As an early career writer I've been super pleased with my experience working at bfw. Obviously every place (and person) has quirks and differences in culture, but I've never felt anything but welcomed and valued. I don't agree with the accusations of micromanagement in another review, since I've always felt management was pretty flexible and receptive to ideas--sometimes more flexible than I'd like seeing as how I'm a pathological rule follower. Creative direction definitely happens, but that's the story in any agency when you're not the head honcho. Overall, I've gotten to work on some really interesting projects, meet great people, and grow my portfolio with work I can actually be proud of. Isn't that the point?
Cons
(Petty) I agree about the coffee. People need to step up and make a pot when they finish it!
(Not Petty) I've seen people flounder who don't have the right personality. Bfw isn't a big corporation where you've never met the "big boss" and you only see the whole gang at a yearly conference, so how you deal with people here really matters. If you're not ready to be part of a closer knit agency, bfw probably isn't the place for you.
