Pros
I worked here three years and honestly can't think of an actual pro to this job.
Cons
- very catty and clique-y atmosphere. - a LOT of the employees are racist openly both to coworkers and customers. - sexist job placement, both in processing and store fronts. (I.e. was told that men arent smart enough to be cashiers, men arent good at processing in the warehouse, etc.) - people will be promoted purely because head office like them, not accounting for the ability to do the job and actually knowing how to manage. - if there is an issue with you and another coworker they will force you to sit in the room with that coworker and talk it out regardless of what the issue is. (I.e. sexual harassment, abusive behaviour, etc.) - mouse poop and pee, as well as dead mice. Yeah, you're expected to clean that up. - they won't outright fire you if they decide they don't like you, they'll cut your hours and force you to quit. - customers are allowed to abuse you without any consequence. Have been screamed at, had things thrown at me, have been threatened, had things ripped out of my hands, etc. Nobody ever did anything to ban these customers or take any other action. - you will get written up for things you didn't do or things that really don't warrant a write up. Make a mistake stocking? Write up. Don't want to come in on your day off? Write up. Call in sick when you have covid? Write up. Yeah. - the coworkers can be awesome but it's all trauma bonding because you're in a place that doesn't care about you. - not friendly to mental illness. If you experience any symptoms at all, then they decide you're difficult etc and complain behind your back until they do the hour cuts etc.
