Stuck in a rut - Anonymous employee Billhighway Employee Review

The facilities are awful. There's no bright side. The building is a dung heap. The compute environment is ok, but too restrictive. Apps work well but access is very Mother Hen. There's an odd mix between comfort and uptight. Most of the team is laid back but certain leaders and HR have giant sticks up their exhaust ports. The company wastes a lot of time pretending to provide education, which is really just product focused internal marketing. Lip service to culture but no real culture. Communication and accountability are both missing from the cookbook. The people who stay more than a couple of years are almost completely unemployable outside of this cocoon, and they're the ones keeping this company stuck in the 1990s. Raises are tiny. "Profits up 25% over last year? You get a three percent raise." Company rakes in cash hand over fist? 2% bonus. If company revenue is 20% more than last year, why is the bonus pool the same size, especially when there's twice as many people participating in the pool. The application platform solution is ancient and horrible. It takes months to get simple changes completed and signed clients leave because management makes promises that the developors cannot meet. They keep investing in the same old crap rather than starting from a blank page and modernizing what they do.
