Management above my immediate manager were all over the place, with unclear goals and communication. After a 'restructuring' that resulted in layoffs, we were told everyone still around was safe, then we had another round of layoffs two weeks later. Constant push for deadlines to be moved closer while resources were being moved out from under the team. Attempts to put some processes and procedures in place to learn from prior mistakes were thrown out the window to meet deadlines, and increasingly our attempts to restore some of these fell by the wayside so we could just get half-baked products out the door. Benefits were being cut back to try and save money, before policies that seemed obvious regarding gifts to the C-suite and clients were even considered.
