Pros

I have worked for BioConnect for many years, I have had the opportunity to see BioConnect in almost every form of our company and I can now confidently say we are truly hitting our stride. Like many of the reviews say here, we have done really great job and bringing in amazing people to foster our culture. There are great parties, many lunchtime outings, team vacations (presidents club) and even some self funded team vacations taking place. The people here are truly great to work with. There is now a very cognizant mentality to bring in the best and brightest in all positions including growing our senior leadership team which will work to smooth out some of the growing pains we face. As a whole, BioConnect is designed to enable its employees to face once in a lifetime opportunities/challenges/projects that help shape you professionally/personally. If you are someone who wants to be challenged, is looking for industry redefining opportunities and loves self-learning then BioConnect is a great home for you.

Cons

The company is continuing to face large, big and appealing opportunities from many markets/verticals. There is sometimes a challenge in focus on which opportunities to take priority. Job Titles are not always truly indicative of the work required. As we go through massive growth there is always the need for people to wear multiple hats. You need to be comfortable fighting uphill. We are going after some really challenging applications/technology, if you don't like being challenged, don't apply.

BioConnect Response

Thanks so much for your review. You have portrayed our company in a very realistic light. Some of the challenges we face this year are due to amazing opportunities that have come our way. The dedication and drive that our BioConnectors bring to the job every single day is a testament to the true entrepreneurial environment we work in every time we walk through those glass doors in Liberty Village. We will never lose focus on our people or our culture. That's the reason we have come this far and for those reasons, we will always be grateful.

Pros

Some of the people are quite nice and friendly. Office location is good thou the office itself is just OK. Salary compensation is decent, not competitive but acceptable.

Cons

The workplace relies heavily on outdated technology and methods. Development planning is controlled by product management, which in turn is heavily influenced by Sales. Sales dictates the priorities across the board. The atmosphere varies among colleagues—some are friendly, others distant, and a few seem to be gathering information for potentially negative purposes. Departments outside of Sales are notably understaffed. Access to information is limited, knowledge is fragmented among different groups, and collaboration tends to be transactional, often contingent on immediate benefits unless directly overseen by management. This environment may not be suitable for those interested in working with cutting-edge technology or modern methodologies. In a security company context, much of the security responsibility falls on a single individual who already juggles multiple roles within the organization. The company culture & management discourages showing any signs of struggling mental health, and individuals risk repercussions, including termination, for displaying signs of weakness or vulnerability. Paid time off (PTO) and sick leave policies are inadequate. There is significant dissatisfaction stemming from the CEO's strong opposition to remote work.
