Pros
Family owned company has had the same processes and management for many years, so some of the ways they do things are antiquated and inefficient. However, there is definitely a sense that management understands this and is trying to modernize and improve automation. Lots of ways to move up if you are motivated and show initiative. Not the best pay, but typical for the region/industry.
Cons
Morale can be low due to extended hours and workers being pushed too hard to get orders out on time. Always felt a sense of urgency as if everything was constantly behind. Benefits were very lacking and too expensive for most employees, especially factory workers. Manufacturing facilities were very gritty and grimy/poor sanitation. Large flux of temp employees in some departments. Whole groups of temps will come and go, and after a year an entire team can look completely different.
