Pros

One notable advantage of the company is its excellent retirement plan. The employee ownership scheme significantly enhances retirement benefits, provided the company maintains its performance.

Cons

The RTO has destroyed the company. The culture is on life support as most people who cared were forced out. We preach psychological safety but have people worried about being let go for RTO or being tracked by a beacon

Pros

One of the best aspects of working at Black & Veatch is the people. The culture is collaborative, supportive, and built around strong professional relationships. I have had the opportunity to work alongside some of the best and brightest individuals in the industry, which has been both inspiring and rewarding. The company genuinely invests in its employees through excellent mentoring, coaching, and career development opportunities. Leaders are approachable and committed to helping team members grow professionally, whether through formal programs, on-the-job learning, or exposure to meaningful and challenging work.

Cons

Communication around internal programs and initiatives could be improved. Increasing visibility and awareness of available resources, development opportunities, and company initiatives would help employees better engage with and benefit from them.

Pros

ESOP is financially solid and pays good dividends. Firm does quality work for clients. Good relationships within practice groups. Technical abilities of firm are strong, best in class so to speak.

Cons

Culture has been deteriorating for several years and current leadership is driving employee satisfaction downward. Company seems to be turning into a dictatorship with group executive leadership unwilling and likely afraid to challenge a paradigm of corporate greed. The appropriate balance between value for people and value for profit has been upset.
