Pros
Relative to other startups I've worked at in the past, Blastpoint has inspiring, emotionally-intelligent leadership, consistently makes right-seeming decisions and discusses them openly with the team, and everyone pretty much gets along, with no egos getting in the way. It's kinda a miracle. Not that there aren't tense moments, or a lot of hard work (we're still a startup struggling to survive), but the amount of mutual respect and dedication is a big boost to this employee's morale. As with any other startup, morale also rises and falls with the company's success in building product and selling it, and in the last few months things have trended up dramatically there. Work/life balance pretty excellent by the standards of the startups I've been at.
Cons
The usual constraints of a startup: less certainty about the company's future, ambition exceeds current staffing, hard to explain "what exactly your company does" to your parents. Lack of a brand name on the resume that other people will recognize. And at the moment, nobody's really going to the office, so it's been 18 months of zoom meetings and work-from-home.
