Pros

Work From Home The talent young professionals

Cons

Compensation Training On-boarding Follow-up on assignments You have to bring your own device and the technology is subpar. No free parking, no parking reimbursements Everything is left to the last minute. There are department and team leads who are so lost and confused and just waiting to be told what to do. The pay is insulting. There are so many talented, young, black professionals, but Blavity doesn't appreciate them. Nothing is explained to you. You have to ask question after question and you still don't get valid answers. You basically train yourself on all things. The company is just sad. There are select individuals who are experienced and talented and they refuse to speak up on their skillset because they don't want to be promoted. It's very sad. The turnover is high for a reason. No one there has been there longer than a year. That says a lot about the way the business is ran. The office environment is borderline toxic.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and perspective. As we continue to evolve the company culture, we are continuously evaluating and implementing new internal processes that establish more structure for our scaling organization. Additionally, to further support new hires, we have implemented an onboarding program which provides an overview of the organization, 30/60/90 training, and an overview of tools/platforms to help set them up for success.

Pros

The health insurance wasn't a nightmare to navigate.

Cons

Blavity's micromanagement was absolutely suffocating. I literally could not send a client email without someone questioning my word choice or demanding to know why I included that person on the thread. Every single decision got routed through some approval chain and nobody would even explain why they said no, just "not approved" and silence. I started to feel like my manager was waiting for me to fail, like the hiring process was a mistake and now I had to prove myself every single day all over again. By my third month there I completely stopped suggesting anything because every idea got was the kind of slow trust erosion where you don't notice it happening until you realize you've already mentally checked out.
