Pros

I'd normally been able to take off as much work as I need to. I didn't run into any issues with getting days off declined. You're able to set your own schedule at the beginning of the semester. Teachers depend on who you work for; some are easy going but some are stuck to their ways.

Cons

Minimal formal training. No training on closing procedures. No tour or map of the facilities (I had no idea where diapers were kept until 3 months in). Paid significantly less than IU min wage of $10.15/Hr. Conflict management policies vary tremendously by teacher (in some you may tell kids "don't hit/bite/etc." in others you'd get yelled at for reprimanding). Lots of labor you get no help with (cleaning filthy tables, floors, walls covered in food/paint/poop/slime/etc). Teachers will not help you whatsoever even if they're just sitting on their phone. Food has improved but still is delivered frozen/burnt/sloppy/EXPIRED. No real discipline in many rooms, which leads to children who don't listen, don't pick up after themselves, don't share, and think they can boss the adults around. Employee turnover is nuts for both part time support staff and full time teachers.
