Pros

Flexible schedules. Good PTO.

Cons

At first, it seems like that fun, young, and, more importantly, growing agency you were excited to work for. The website is fun, people laugh with you during the interview, and the space is cool. You will probably choose not to notice the flying red flags that will come up during your interview or even first couple of months. However, there are many. Advancement: There is no growth opportunity. I repeat NO growth. Well, at least for you as a specialist: both from a skill advancement and compensation standpoint. Sure, they like to talk about “ground floor” work (that keeps the company afloat), but you will be treated accordingly- like someone who does ‘ground floor’ work aka dirt. Benefits: Health insurance is offered, but coverage leaves a lot to be desired. They use an out-of-state insurance provider, and practically zero medical offices recognize its name. So you are stuck running around in circles trying to find out whether your visit or procedure is covered. Moreover, there is no 401k or any other benefits offered. Company culture: Communication between management and production team is non-existent. There is a lot of talk about ‘collaboration’ and ‘team effort,’ but in reality, there is no collaboration or team effort coming from management and sales. The production team is frequently flying blind and has very scarce information about clients and the overall company standing and plans for the future. Leadership: ‘management’ is a better word. There is no leading by example unless you are an avid golfer and traveler. Then there are tons of good examples. Compensation: It's lower than the market average, especially if we are talking 5-7 years of experience and beyond. Moreover, there are no annual reviews or raises. If you ask for one, be prepared to fight an uphill battle. They might suggest you go and get offers from other companies to prove that you are worth more money. This happened before, most likely will happen again. Overall not a great place to be.

Pros

Good people and lots of growth opportunity We are a small, but growing agency with lots of ground floor opportunity. We are privately held, which allows us the flexibility to do things that other larger agencies cannot . There is a lot of flexibility around work hours and we are developing a great atmosphere of teamwork.

Cons

As I said, we are a growing agency and with that comes growing pains. As we move into new process, new tools and new structure things change. The one thing that is constant is change. So if that is hard for you, that would be a con.

Pros

I've been working at BLD for over 2 years and couldn't ask for a better atmosphere. The culture here is very much centered around teamwork and creativity which I love. The location is perfect right in the Arena District and our office space is a really open and urban feel. Being at a small company means you really have to be able to dive in, take on a lot of different tasks and collaborate well with others. I've learned so much from working here and truly enjoy coming into work and being a part of such a great team every day.

Cons

Being a small company doesn't give us the same opportunities that large corporations may have in terms of certain benefits and options; however, BLD always makes the employees priority so any concerns you may have are genuinely addressed by management to try and accommodate as best as possible

Thank you for the feedback. Eventually we will be that larger corporation that will combine the small office feel with big business benefits.
