Pros
Working for Bluefield University was largely a positive experience. The community at Bluefield is highly supportive, and they embody strong moral codes, and servant leadership. The pay is competitive, and enough to meet my family's financial needs. The health benefits are very good and support my family's health needs.
Cons
The biggest issue when I worked there is a lack of effective communication between departments, however, recent initiatives have improved departmental relations. Being an older campus, issues with the dorms were substantial when I worked there. Under new president direction, however, plans are underway to rennovate the older dorms. During peak times, it can be difficult to find a work- life balance, however, this is true of any higher education institution.
