Limited Career Growth Opportunities: Despite consistently achieving 95-100% quality scores and high productivity and having relevant experience, I was never selected for any internal or external open roles I applied for. This included leadership positions that aligned with my engineering background. The lack of clear career progression was disappointing. Unfair Interview Process: In one case, after successfully completing the first interview for the Project Coordinator role, the company reopened the job listing while I was still in the process. I immediately reached out to the team, asking why the position was open again when I had already passed the first interview. They responded that they needed more candidates...? This made me feel like they were actively looking for a specific candidate rather than fairly considering the existing applicants. Typically, if all candidates had been rejected and they couldn’t find a fit, reopening the position would make sense. However, in my case, I was still in the process and waiting for my second interview, which felt unfair. Even though I later completed a strong second interview, I was not selected. Given my qualifications, experience, and high performance, this raised concerns about fairness and transparency in the selection process. Handling of Unexpected Events: During the bomb cyclone, when the office and most of the city lost power, employees were forced to use their PTO instead of being offered an alternative solution. We had no option to work, as this was an unexpected and extreme weather situation that made it impossible to continue working. If an employee had no remaining PTO, they were required to use UTO (Unpaid Time Off), meaning they were not paid. This was poorly managed, especially for full-time employees who should have been accommodated better.
