Pros
Excellent work-life balance, low stress, lunch once a week.
Cons
* The company has been neglecting its engineering department for its entire ten-year lifespan. The web framework is Rails 2, and though several attempts have been made to upgrade to Rails 3, none ever succeed because of the huge amount of technical debt. There's a long history of engineering things the quick & dirty way, rather than the slower way that's actually sustainable in the long run. * Yearly raises range from very low to nonexistent, even if your performance review is excellent. I simply do not understand the mentality of companies that do this. They’d rather spend tens of thousands in recruiter fees to replace an employee than a few thousand to retain them? In a job market with a deficit of engineers this makes no sense. * Suffers from massive attrition. Entire teams have been replaced. * The company gives lip service to listening to its employees, but in the end, management does whatever it wants, whether they’re right or wrong. There is no respect for differing opinions. * Management has told employees to write positive reviews of the company. I wouldn’t trust some of the positive reviews you see here.
