Thank you for recognizing our Sandy Vacation benefit and our LuckyU training. We have implemented an anonymous employee engagement tool called TINYpulse that allows all employees a place to offer feedback, suggestions, and gain clarification on decisions. This feedback is regularly reviewed by the executive team and initiatives are implemented based on the feedback. The culture at Booksource is great because of the people we have here - hard workers that genuinely like serving our customers and working collaboratively. This feedback has been provided to the executive team to review.
Upskilling resources are solid
Well supported in first 2 years
Events take the edge off that contractor chilliness you might feel
Great way to get started
I do feel that my time is protected
Cons
Being a contractor sucks in so many different ways, even if I’m technically a full time employee at Brooksource
I was promised a smooth and swift transition to a full time role after the first year or so, that’s come and gone and the conversation never seems to move forward.
At this point I think I would just need a counter offer to actually get a full time position wish I was fought for harder, or that my expectations were better managed.
Company events kind of fell off, but think management is working on it.
