Best to avoid - Anonymous employee Borrowell Employee Review

This place is basically The Stepford Wives. If you don't pretend to be #blessed you're in trouble. They have AMAs and Office Vibe but most people are too afraid to put anything in because they don't believe it's anonymous. They talk about diversity at conferences and on social media but in reality they don't take any action to make people feel any sense of belonging. The company is very white and alienates people of color. Women are discriminated against and white men advance while women do not. They pretended to be so different because the execs were half women but then promoted two white men and the execs are now just like other companies. There is very little transparency around pay. They don't even disclose pay bands for different departments. I'm certain that there are pay gaps that the company refuses to address. Salary raises are at the discretion of the managers and execs and there is very little room for negotiation. The only people who seem to move up are the people who go to every social and work incredibly late hours. A lot of the new managers don't have training or people experience so they end up micro managing their team. Good people were arbitrarily fired just because the execs can't stand criticism. But they didn't realize that they were shooting themselves in the foot and now there is a wave of people quitting. Borrowell is very much a fear based culture and they take pride in the divide and conquer mentality. A lot of coworkers are afraid to talk to each other and the minute they know you're leaving they feel they can open up about the struggles they encounter on a day to day basis. Instead of caring about the wellbeing and happiness of their employees, they are too concerned with silencing any criticism.
