Pros

Cooperative counterparts willing to help. The billing policy they did stand by..

Cons

Entire upper layers of management. When my manager came to ride with me and saw/found out I was 16 weeks pregnant I was told the next day that they were integrating specialties and realigning (now mind you my husbands a navy seal/ green beret) offered me (we live in the panhandle where they moved the entire group 4 years ago)- broward & dade counties ONLY .. Had no choice other than to speak with the state regarding wrongful being "basically downsized or terminated- even though I had the largest WH account in the country, so many specimens the courier had to pick up from 3 bins in the office twice every day.... Pros

Solid benefits, yearly bonus (although that is subject to be withdrawn at management's discretion.) Job duties are relatively easy for someone with a medical and medical billing background. Working conditions are quite nice, for example the company provides ergonomic supplies when requested and safety equipment is readily available.

Cons

Staff is predominately Hispanic (although this could be a pro if you are Hispanic.) Most of the conversation was conducted in Spanish, including instructions to the Registration Department staff by the department Supervisor. Training on new procedures was limited and often confusing, even to the most experienced department personnel. The company is family owned and operated, therefore family members are often in upper management positions without the skills and abilities to carry out the job functions of their positions. Salary increases are completely based on management's yearly performance appraisals. As an employee you have no chance to dispute or change your evaluation scores. The company has recently discontinued it's matching contribution to the 401(k) retirement savings plan and has not provided a projected date for reinstating the match. Gossip runs rampant throughout the company, to the extent that very few can be trusted with confidential matters.
