Pros

Literally,can't think of any thing

Cons

Having worked with more than single startup and having interacted with multiple stakeholders in startup ecosystem, I can certainly say don't judge startup experience based on Box8. Narrow minded ness, refusal to be open for new/fresh ideas, high level of autocracy, treating employees as their slaves are not traits of successful founders, but are of Box8 founders. Box8 is a perfect case study of how not to treat your employees. Founders know that no sane/wise person would stay with them for a year. Hence, they make annual retention bonus/ESOP a big chunk of your salary. Their funda is simple, paying salary makes them owner of employees' life. Founders need to understand the difference between cheap and frugality. Founding team's insecurity has been hindrance to growth of performers and organization. Founding team Lacks in any organizational experience, which is clearly visible from their unprofessional way of working. They still have not hired anyone senior to them or with significant experience because of insecurities.

Pros

Nothing, they treat employee as slave

Cons

* Leadership concerns: The CTO (shivaji bose) tends to micromanage and behaves as if he knows everything, often treating employees and even managers poorly. * Weak management: Managers lack leadership and innovation. Instead of contributing technically or architecturally, they focus on highlighting employee mistakes and reporting them upward. Many seem to operate out of fear rather than leadership. * Outdated tech stack: The company uses very old technologies and does not invest in modern tools, including AI, likely due to budget constraints. * Toxic work culture: Some managers reportedly target specific employees, creating mental pressure to push them to resign. * High attrition of good talent: Many skilled employees have left. Those who remain often do not meet expected experience standards, including at managerial levels. * Notice period issues: A strict 3-month notice period, with heavy financial penalties even if you leave a day early. * ESOP concerns: ESOPs are offered but lack proper documentation or transparency. * No open communication: Employees feel unsafe raising concerns, as it may lead to termination. * Sudden terminations: Instances of employees being fired abruptly, even after routine meetings like stand-ups. * No severance support: Employees are let go without severance packages. * Mental stress: The work environment can be mentally exhausting and stressful, as confirmed by multiple former employees. Final Verdict: Strongly not recommended due to toxic culture, poor management practices, and lack of employee support.

Pros

- Good learning opportunity for freshers. - The team I worked in, had friendly and helpful colleagues.

Cons

- Bad work life balance. - High expectations to reach. - No proper communication regarding what exactly should be done in tasks and their deadlines. - Once you get a warning for weak performance, you can get fired anytime. No matter how much you work hard and improve. - Compared to the amount of work you do, the pay seems less. - Bias towards certain employees.
