Pros
Onboarding Experience: I will admit that the onboarding process at Braintrust was relatively well-structured and thorough. However, this seemingly positive aspect is overshadowed by the fact that the person who onboarded me was eventually laid off. This speaks volumes about the company's stability and the job security it offers. Basic Equipment Provided: I appreciate that Braintrust did provide some basic equipment to get started with the role, and the stipend for additional purchases after 90 days was a decent gesture. However, this minor perk hardly compensates for the larger issues at hand. Talented Co-workers: Among the few redeeming qualities of Braintrust was the presence of talented individuals working alongside me. It was inspiring to collaborate with them, but unfortunately, even their skills couldn't salvage the sinking ship.
Cons
Budget Woes: It became apparent soon after joining that Braintrust did not have a proper budget for my role. It seemed like they were just throwing people into positions and hoping it would somehow work out. Unfortunately, this led to a lack of necessary resources and support, making it difficult to perform optimally in the role. Unrealistic Expectations: The workload here is beyond imaginable. The management seems to expect every employee to perform at a superhuman level, doing 10 times the work of a regular person. This excessive pressure leaves employees burnt out and demotivated. It's evident that the company is relying heavily on AI and automation to take over tasks, with the hidden agenda of reducing the workforce and cutting costs.
