Cons
No matter how great your colleagues are and how well you all get along and work together, culture still stems from the top. With that being said, it is to be warned that the CEO is 'quite' the leader. As a service to job seekers and candidates who are considering employment here, I will disclose some red flags that I observed and unfortunately could not see come to fruition until I worked here. Here are the bullet points for you to judge for yourself:
-The office is actually where the CEO and his significant other lives. This was not disclosed in the interview. It is a penthouse in a modern apartment.
-CEO lacks emotional intelligence (you can see this as he is inapproachable, communicates poorly, condescending, awkward) and has a authoritarian management style. This is the only job he has had. He is smart, no doubt, but is hard to learn from and work with as he treats/views his employees as if they are beneath him.
- COO is remote and in the east coast. She has great thought leadership but isn't in the office and isn't as able to resolve the day to day internal and operational issues that attribute to the toxic work environment that the CEO contributes to.
-Everyone, outside of the sales/account management team, sits with their back facing the CEO. He sits in the center.
-The business still feels like it is at its early start up stage. There are about 15 employees.
-Lacks diversity. At the time I was there, the team was 100% Asians.
-Lack of growth opportunities as it is a small business and they are struggling to grow but have goals to expand
-Pays below market value if you are not a developer
