Pros
For the most part staff are kind, approachable and respectful. They've started offering more educational support for new hires. Opportunities to transfer to other roles within the hospital to diversify skills and education. Pay is good. Part of HOOPP. Some managers are great listeners, are transparent, show their appreciation for staff and demonstrate good leadership.
Cons
Benefits are expensive with minimal coverage. Have to pay for parking. Uses old technology or dated charting methods that makes it harder rather than easier to do your job. Parts of the hospital are so dated it's literally crumbling, breaking down and/or falling apart putting patient and staff at risk. Some managers are difficult to get a hold of, are poor communicators, don't take initiative or are absent when they are needed esp during crisises, concerns fall on deaf ears, offer no follow up, etc.
