Pros

The children and not having to work there on the weekend.

Cons

Bright Little Stars Barnet pitch a working environment that will foster positivity, creativity, collaboration and family. ‘Well being’ Wednesdays are spearheaded by the management team, where they promise to provide a safe space for all staff members. This is all a farce, a scam, an illusion for incoming parents who believe they are placing their children in a positive environment. Very ironic that it’s ran by the same management who foster a toxic working space and bullying culture. Bright Little Stars Barnet is riddled with staff who don’t care for the children, but individuals who prefer to spend 10 hours of their working day to undermine, bully and gossip about those who don’t and won’t fit into their respective cliques. Veteran staff absolve themselves from any responsibility and manage to pin the blame on newcomers with no repercussions. Safeguarding issues is a huge issue amongst this establishment and no parent should ever put their child in their care. Staff turnover is insanely high as morale is low and they rely on monetary incentives to replace those who have left. Bright Little Stars Barnet would hire anyone to ensure that they manage to keep staff numbers up. Rooms are overcrowded with not enough qualified staff to keep up with the ratio. A car crash. Run as fast as you can.

Pros

Working at Bright Little Stars continues to be an incredibly rewarding experience. The organisation genuinely values its people and is deeply committed to high-quality early years education and staff development. As a Careers Academy Lead, I feel trusted, supported, and encouraged to innovate, which has enabled me to make a meaningful impact on training, leadership development, and practice across the nurseries. The culture is positive, collaborative, and child-centred, with strong leadership and a clear vision for continuous improvement. There are excellent opportunities for professional growth, and staff wellbeing and development are taken seriously. It is inspiring to work alongside passionate colleagues who are dedicated to giving children the best possible start in life. Overall, Bright Little Stars remains a fantastic place to work for anyone seeking purpose, progression, and a supportive team environment.

Cons

I do not have any cons. BLS is an exceptional organisation to work for. It creates a supportive and inspiring environment where you can take pride in your work, feel truly valued, and be part of a team that genuinely prioritises people and the highest standards of education and care.
