Pros
Great benefits, flexible hours when needed, excellent maternity and paternity leave.
Cons
The work is repetitive and monotonous yet all billable employees put in overtime. The flip side is those employees have clear career paths and opportunities for professional development. Non-billable employees are treated much differently (no professional development, no career growth, limited raises even to cover COL, etc). Generally, the non-billable staff are treated as an afterthought. It’s hilarious they do purpose consulting when this was one of the most purposeless and unfulfilling jobs of my life. It’s typical management consulting so all the strategists/consultants are recruited from prestigious (read: expensive and exclusionary) universities leading to a general feeling of arrogance and insincerity from 2/3 of the employees. I guess it aligns well with the work since it’s mostly about making CEOs feel good about themselves, but not actually effecting any change.
