Pros

It’s a job. Maybe a career but a very low paying career.

Cons

Working for this big corporate company is not ideal if you truly value enriching children and their early childhood growth. Like all early childhood educators, when I first started. I was excited and full of spark. Over time, I’ve become frustrated with my employers. They don’t care about their employees, they don’t care about kids. It’s all about money in THEIR own pockets. They find things to nitpick about our uniforms, they bombard us with new paper work, they want us to juggle the ‘hey mama’ app on the tablet yet we get in trouble for working on it and “not engaging with the kids properly” We are constantly told what we do wrong, we aren’t thanked enough. We develop bladder problems because we don’t drink enough water abd have such bad anxiety about going to the bathroom because with staffing issues we constantly have to think about when we’ll be able to escape. One of our office directors keeps writing passive aggressive notes about us not completing silly cleaning lists when they are well aware of the challenges we face in our classrooms when we’ve had low staffing issues. WE DO CLEAN but don’t always have time to complete their cleaning check lists. They could be more understanding of what it’s like to care for so many children. We teachers are human too. We need to be supported. This corporation does not do enough to support its educators.

Pros

They offer a large discount on childcare for employees.

Cons

They accept too many children, including children with special needs, and will fill a room up with as many kids and as little staff as legally possible, and still expect it to be quality childcare.
