Pros
The other mentors are usually very smart, cool, and compassionate people. Together you get to work clients—most of whom are genuinely disabled or disadvantaged. This is rewarding, and sometimes you’re actually making a difference in their lives. You can make your schedule in a way that affords ample time off.
Cons
The pay is bare-bones. You have to stay at work overnight. Some of the clients can be very difficult to work with. I never really understood what the leadership team did, except collect all the profits. It’s a business and it’s run like one.
