Pros

good pay for non-profit and located on Lehman College campus

Cons

The organizations mission is not carried out as it should be due to the dehumanizing and intimidating practices from management on staff. Here, everyone is a manager and employees are highly mistreated. This place is an endless revolving door as staff is extremely overworked and undervalued. While working here, I saw more than 20 people come and go due to being let go for "insufficient funds in the budget" or leaving on their own terms. None of those staff members were ever replaced, causing the workloads of the remaining employees to grow tremendously. The organization never looked to hire new people to take away some of the burden from their remaining staff and continued to pile on more work. They have unrealistic expectations and timelines. At this organization, employees are expected to change their schedules to work evenings and weekends on short notice as well as continuously guess and anticipate what is expected of them without receiving clear directions from management. Work here only if you want to learn what you don't want in a job and organization.

Pros

Located in the Lehman College campus, make your own schedule

Cons

Terrible Management. Not one iota of professionalism. They speak to you in a degrading manner. People being suddenly "laid off' in an office with the door wide open for everyone else to hear. Close the door. Be respectful. I wish I could say positive things about this organization, but I really can't. No one in management is realistic about time frames. They just pile more and more work without hiring anymore people. When you voice that you need help, they have " You need to get this done, figure it out" attitude. The retention rate herei s abysmal. In the first 2 months I was there, three people quit because they couldn't handle the treatment anymore. They never hired to replace them either, they just kept spreading the work around.Very frustrating environment for everyone. Very small group of employees that feels like you're working on crisis mode all day & everyday. STAY AWAY.
