I think that a natural consequence of the older employee base at an engineering company is that there is little diversity, and that there is a lot of tribal knowledge and information silos. I don't think this is unique to this company (it happens at many older companies that don't hire many young employees), but I do think that this stunts the company growth and culture growth, and that there needs to be more effort among leadership to bring in new talent, in order to keep the culture open and collaborative.
Benefits are sub-par for the industry. You can get paid more in other companies. Now that the company is private, there is also not stock or equity options to add to the compensation package.
