Pros
Initially, state benefits however it's not what it used to be, definitely not worth the stress and horrible work environment.
Cons
If they are short you will be held over after working your shift to work another shift aka red dots., This happens all the time. You get pulled all the time to work unfamiliar units where they are short, rarely get to stay on your unit. Management is terrible, they don't care about you and they don't want input from staff, they do not have your back either. Nepotism is extreme, the chief nursing officers entire family works there and should be conflict of interest. They put people in management positions that don't have a clue on how to manage, and they have favorites so you can forget fairness since you may be working with your bosses best friend. The house supervisors are so hateful. If you call in sick they talk down to you and will not let your shift supervisor know that you called resulting in being labeled a no show. Also, you can forget about confidentiality, the NSAs will gossip about personal matters that should be kept confidential.
