Pros

Co-workers make it 100% bearable.

Cons

There is little good to be said about working for Bugatchi. While the co-workers made it more bearable, since so many good and hardworking people work for this company, this is not a good place to work for if you’re the type of person that has talents or specific skills and believe you will go far. You’re in constant surveillance and walking on eggshells. Unfortunately, Bugatchi is a text book cliche of what most people would think a fashion brand functions: a wannabe Devil Wears Prada CEO, constant drama in the building, and ridiculous micromanaging that will not enable to perform your best in at work. Based on these reviews, it seems this was significantly worse 10+ years ago, but not much has changed. You are not recognized or rewarded for your hard work and unrealistic expectations. In fact, if you’re put on a salary, they will make you work days and hours of overtime, especially during nationally observed holidays like Fourth of July., and not be compensated accordingly. You’re more than likely to get scolded at or confronted with something that they feel like you did wrong, than have opportunities of appreciation and recognition. When it’s high season, get ready to work many overtime hours and work during weekends, and if you’re on a salary, you will have to fight to have breaks or days off. 3 sick days a year, 7 day vacation after 1 year of working, and 2 weeks vacation after 5 years. What’s probably worse, is affecting people’s daily mental health and quality of life. The fact that the higher ends move people around like pawns. It’s expected for a company to make decisions like that and let people go. But firing people on the spot without a severance or 2 week notice, or fire someone that challenges the ethics of the establishment, all the while praising the people in the company that abuse the company’s system and putting ideas in the CEO’s head and further influencing decisions the CEO makes. But let’s briefly talk about the CEO. While she has her moments that her humanity comes through, unfortunately, the micromanaging and control she puts on her employees, literally causes sickness in people. From headaches, migraines, to letting it affect your immune system, this is a level of stress I don’t wish on anyone. Many people are constantly suffering from anxiety who work there, and it’s a breath of fresh air if the CEO travels and isn’t around. She is downright abusive: taunting other people and co-workers to their face, yelling at hardworking people when things aren’t going her way, and ALWAYS confrontational. And will talk badly about you if you’re either quitting or disposed of. This is very telling of her character. It’s really sad, that so much talent and time is put into this company and it’s short lasted. There could be so much potential. But the company’s elitism and selfishness, will never allow for the company to grow, the way I know for a fact the higher ends of this company strives to be. Too much ego and egotistical people are involved, and the hardworking, genuine, and talented people either linger because they feel like they have no other choice, or leave the first opportunity they receive.

Pros

not many good things to say except they offer health, 401k, and discount on product.

Cons

There is no mentorship and very little support—employees are expected to give everything to the company. The CEO is publicly condescending, often yelling at employees in front of their colleagues, which is completely unprofessional. The culture discourages collaboration; you’re expected to keep your head down and work like a robot. PTO is minimal (5 days total for sick, vacation, and personal), making work-life balance almost impossible. Think twice before joining—if you value respect, mentorship, and a healthy work environment, better opportunities exist elsewhere.
