Pros

Nice office space Downtown location

Cons

I was hired on with Build Direct and lasted a day due to the lack of communication before joining and unclear insurrection on my first day. During the hiring process limited information was provided about benefits, start date, start time, location, etc. I did not hear about where to report and what time until 5:00-6:00 the night before I was meant to start. When I came to the office for my first day they had no clear direction on training and the manager seemed unsure about what to do. This didn’t instil a lot of confidence in the training process and manager involvement. I did decide to leave after a few days of starting as I knew this was not the right culture for myself.

Pros

I’ve been with BuildDirect for a while now, and I can genuinely say this is one of the best companies I’ve worked for. The culture is collaborative, supportive, and innovative. The leadership team truly values employees and encourages open communication, which creates a great environment for growth and learning. Pros: - Amazing Culture: Everyone here works as a team, and there’s a strong focus on building genuine relationships. - Opportunities to Grow: The company is growing quickly, which creates a lot of opportunities for career development and taking on new challenges. - Work-Life Balance: BuildDirect understands the importance of balance and flexibility, which has been a game-changer for me. - Forward-Thinking Leadership: The leadership team is strategic and transparent about the company’s vision and direction. They genuinely listen to employees and act on feedback. - Exciting Projects: The work here is meaningful and impactful, especially with the integration of new businesses and expanding the product line.

Cons

I honestly can’t think of major cons, but with any fast-growing company, change happens quickly. It’s important to be adaptable and comfortable with a dynamic environment.

Pros

Great view from the office, unlimited vacation, some good people are left, they have exited CCAA successfully, have received new funding

Cons

The business model for this company is flawed, they have been losing money for a long time and despite a reduction in burn rate I very much doubt they can turn it around. The company has recently focused on sectors of the market they think will save them but have failed to differentiate themselves from competitors. Talent and senior leadership left in large numbers after they went into official financial restructuring (CCAA) The plan towards profitability is pure fantasy, I feel sorry for the investors and employees.
