I ultimately left because I caught on to the immature culture and was professionally unfulfilled at the hands of my leader. I can say more about poor communication between departments that demonstrates Bullhorn’s inside-out thinking, but I’ll stick to the first point. Micromanagement is not a motivator, nor a way to attract long-term employees or strengthen morale. I've spoken to several others who have recently left. They too were no longer swayed by happy hour culture alone and felt they've outgrown Bullhorn. **When I was hired, my manager actually told me “this isn’t a sustainable lifestyle, but it is a good way to make money for a couple of years before you get married and start a family. If you haven’t noticed, we like to hire people in a certain stage of their life”**. I learned quickly that a certain stage meant people who don't know any better and who never worked for another company for perspective. Not enough experienced adults in this room.
It was typical to receive calls and emails at ALL HOURS -no exaggeration- and while on PTO. That stretches beyond 'high expectations' and hits 'drink the Kool-Aid' territory. I highly suggest if you are seeking employment to dig for the negative reviews, as many of the positive reviews seem to appeal more to people of a certain life stage.
