      BPL has a lot of desire to get things done and do good by the community

      Cons

      The organization is very resistant to (granted, needed) change, and management has been pushing it through pretty fiercely regardless. Result is that conditions for workers are not particularly stable.

      Good benefits Some lovely people You get easy access to library materials, which is nice Weekly work from home day for some 9-day fortnight for full-time staff Better than most public libraries in the area, unfortunately You're allowed to wear symbols in support of Palestine

      Cons

      Budget issues No capacity for programs, projects, and other things that make library life worth living Limited career growth No diversity or inclusion initiatives
