Pros

Awesome support from manager, colleagues, and management. Good perks. Casual. Workload is ok

Cons

More transparency about the direction of the company would be nice. More long-term vision and less focus on short term benefits. Pay's a bit lower in the industry.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are happy to hear that your experience with Busuu has been positive and you enjoyed being a part of the team. We strive to provide transparency to our employees as much as possible. In order to maintain the hyper-growth environment, we run weekly All Hands, where the business gives the updates and the different teams also share their work and learnings. We also introduced section AMA (Ask Me Anything) during these live meetings to ensure that you can ask questions directly to any member of the team or leadership to encourage transparency. Busuu has a lot of exciting plans ahead as a Product and also as an Employer, so we are constantly growing and evolving, with some short-term milestones with the big picture in mind. Thank you for sharing your feedback on the salaries, we are constantly reviewing the benchmark and have external consultants working with us in Spain and the UK to ensure that we reward our employees fairly. Thank you again for your feedback and we wish you all the best in your journey. If you’d like to provide further feedback please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly at people-team@busuu.com

Pros

- The new management is very nice and understanding. - I've noticed that even when I provide all the necessary information when canceling a lesson, they still have to repeat steps, likely due to company policy. - The only reason I stay is because I absolutely love my students. - It can be challenging to find a job without a degree in the TEFL industry

Cons

-Asked for a raise, completely ignored me. -Very difficult to cancel lessons. -Don't know how well you're doing as a teacher so you're in constant "competition" with other teachers to keep your position. -I've heard that they can fire you without any notice or reason. -Changed policy that you can only do 25 hours per week
