Pros

This company will allow you to hone your teaching skills and many opportunities to practice.

Cons

There is no time outside of work to decorate the classrooms or prepare children's things. It is not a supportive workplace at all. The company only thinks about its own benefit. It wants the staff to work and work for them, but it never thinks about what the staff need or wants. When staff needed to take mc cause he or she is sick, they will ask you not to take mc, because they need people, if you never come it will cause problem to your apprisal. When you want to start a family, the company will ask you not to as a new teacher because they fear you becoming rusty with your teaching skills after you return from maternity leave. instead of being encouraging to the female staff if we wanted to conceive and have our own kids. I feel when it comes to having a job and work life balance, then this company is a no go! as they are never going to be family centred. What a joke, we take care of other people children, but we cannot have our own children and cannot spent time with our own family, if not it will affect our job and apprisals just because we take MC when we are sick and need to take time off to take care of our children when they are sick. What a joke, thats why singapore birth rate are so low. Employers are not encouraging at all at this place. if you are planning to have kids or have one, please leave this centre, small Wonder or Busy Bee Company Centre if you can. Plus, previously, school fees were free for the employees' kids. Now that they have changed the CEO, it suddenly becomes a 20% discount only.

Pros

there was a coffee maker and they provided us snacks.

Cons

talked down to by management daily. ignored when calling for help, my room flooded and it took an hour to get the attention of the office. they won’t come for sick kids, clothes for kids, flooded rooms. they confiscate phones, and not to mention i was a full time employee bringing how 1600$ bi weekly and then they cut me to part time i was only bringing home 800-900$ bi weekly had to ask a church for help with eviction… i was told it would change and things would get better and that was just a lie, nothing changed, i still got evicted. kids are talked to like dogs by management, sometimes moved 3 or 4 times in and out of my room in one day. no one there seems to have any idea of how to run a small daycare and it’s not just me who sees it i know of at least 4 other people who left after i did. if you have kids run now, if you fall behind in payments even if you are employed and the only reason you can’t pay is cause you haven’t gotten hours they will deny you childcare tell you to figure it out and get a sitter just to be charged 200$ a week when your child was denied the care. i received pictures of my child standing like “christ the redeemer” they are not a religious school nor do i think making 4 year olds pretend to be dead on a cross is ok. i’ve seen teachers refuse children’s blankets because they don’t want to deal with accidents. i’ve been told to just do what they say because after all it’s “just checking boxes for them” there is also no warning for room moves, meetings, new friends, anything.
